What happens in a Gong bath?
This is a non-invasive therapy. In a Gong Bath session, you keep your clothes on and snuggle up with blankets and pillows. All you have to do is relax, enjoy and let the sound wash over you. (No water or baths involved!).
The sounds and vibrations ‘bathe’ the body, releasing blockages and allowing energy to flow freely. Gong Baths can help with numerous issues, especially tension and stress. Sound can penetrate where other therapies can’t, making people feel relaxed and re-energised.
I run monthly Gong Baths in Shaldon, usually on the first Friday of every month from September to June. During the summer months I try to move the Gong Baths outside to the Beach or a Wooded area.
If you are unable to make my scheduled sessions you can organise your own group or one-to-ones at a time to suit you.
Are Gong baths suitable for everyone?
Gong baths are generally safe for everyone, however I recommend that participants are over 10 yrs of age (mainly due to having to lie quietly for an hour+) and if you have any of the following contra-indications to contact me prior to attending. Although most participants lie on the floor, you are welcome to sit in a chair if this is more comfortable for you.
Contra-indications
Please note that it is generally advised that you avoid taking part in a Gong Bath if you have any of the following;
Severe mental Illnesses, severe Osteoporosis, recent hip/joint operations, Epilepsy, a pacemaker, advanced stages of Cancer, Pregnancy (particularly first three months), Meniere’s Disease and Tinnitus.
If you want to come along then please contact me in advance to discuss - often 1:1 sessions may be more appropriate.
