About Me

Hello

Like many holistic practitioners, I came to be doing what I do through experiencing the healing benefits of the services I now offer myself. Homeopathy and Gongs both work via resonance and vibration to bring balance, harmony and better health.

I have always valued the learning that arises from 1:1 interaction and been interested in hearing someone's story. My early career was spent teaching Art in colleges and further education settings in Hampshire, Surrey and Oxfordshire. Later on, whilst contemplating whether to train to become an Art therapist, I began teaching Art in Prisons in Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, where the therapeutic value of discussion came into focus more powerfully for me. I realised that facilitating personal expression and helping others explore the more hidden aspects of self was what I enjoyed most.

In 2012, I moved to South Devon, where unable to find work in the Arts, I ended up working in NHS Mental Health services whilst I had my 3 children. Ultimately, this work took me away from actually working with people on a deeper level, so I left and was able to spend the next year and a bit at home with my children, where I began to broaden my spiritual practice and interest in healing modalities. This led to me being guided to firstly complete Reiki training and then to fully embrace my love of sound as a tool.

When I first experienced the power of Gongs, I had already been using singing bowls for some years to aid meditation and energetically cleanse but was astonished by the way in which I could feel the Gong sound on, around and in my body. Wow!! I quickly discovered just what an incredible tool they are in aiding deeply restorative meditation and mental, emotional and physical change. It is a joy to play my Gongs and other healing instruments for others. Initially I began by working on a one to one basis with clients, combining Gong therapy with Reiki or intuitive healing, then decided to start offering monthly Gong baths locally under the name 'Inner Space Sounds' in 2021. I am a qualified Gong Practitioner with the College of Sound Healing (COSH). I am currently developing my practice by further exploring using the voice for healing Visit my Inner Space Sounds page here.

I first became interested in Homeopathy after using some remedies in my late teens following a car accident.  Over the following years I kept some Arnica handy- but that was about it!  The next time I came back to Homeopathy was about 8 months after the birth of my second child in 2015. I had been struggling with postpartum depression for over a year and I realised I desperately needed help. My eldest was 2 years old at the time, so it was important to me that whatever medicine I had to take, needed to be gentle, effective and bring me back to ‘me’ again. I sought the help of a Homeopath in Exeter. I found the initial consultation so deeply cathartic and left feeling I had been listened to (also wondering how some of the questions she asked were relevant!) She was to post me a pill.  I can still remember the moment I took that little pill (just the one pill!) - the effect was instant. I could not believe how different I felt, and the world looked in the space of half an hour. It was life changing!

Over the next 4 years, homeopathy supported me through the pregnancy and birth of my daughter, a long-term relationship break up and finding my way as a single mum. I felt such profound gratitude for the healing that occurred and was filled with wonder about the ‘how’ and ‘why’ aspects of it all so in 2019 enrolled in a 1 year ‘taster’/foundation course. After the first weekend I was hooked! 1 year turned into 4 years of training to become a Homeopath.  I am trained in classical homeopathy and registered with the Society of Homeopaths which represents professional homeopaths in the UK and Europe, and I abide by their Code of Ethics and Practice. I work with people needing help for all kinds of illnesses but have a particular interest in Mental Health. I am also a volunteer with The Travelling Homeopaths Collective, providing treatment and information to festival goers. There isn't enough time in one lifetime to learn ALL there is to know about Homeopathy - which is partly why I love it so much as it means I am always discovering more about it. Visit my Homeopathy pages here to find out more.

I am a mum to 2 lively sons and a spirited daughter and live in the beautiful town of Teignmouth, South Devon. In between Homeopathy, Gonging and Meditation you can find me learning about other healing modalities, astrology, getting creative and exploring my local beaches, moors, countryside and new music.
